Job Description:
Our Ottawa based client is looking for a Technical Support Resource for a contract position running from date of award to November 30th, 2009.
All candidates must possess enhanced security clearance and be fluent in both official languages.
ROLE:
The Technical Support person responds to problems reported from the client, typically through the Level II Help Desk. The Technical Support person applies appropriate technical/industry knowledge and has an understanding of basic Service Delivery processes.
The Technical Support person is bilingual (English, French), patient and customer-oriented.
RESPONSIBILITIES (Major Duties/ Tasks/ Key Deliverables):
- Responds to problems from the field reported in a problem ticket
- Helps to resolve or resolves problems reported in a problem ticket
- Contacts the field to gather information
- Performs production support activities for applications
- Aids in conducting structured walk-through and assists in resolving issues
- Aids in system migration planning and execution
- Follows the guidelines of the Service Delivery process
- Provides input and support to team members regarding Service Delivery processes
- Is typically required to participate in the on-call pager rotation, which is 7/24
- May perform additional duties as assigned
